Motorola has launched another new Mi smartphone named Motorola Edge 50 Neo 5G. This can be a powerful material smartphone because the specification is very good according to its budget. So will it be right to buy a smartphone at this price point or not, let’s see.

The smartphone launched in the Indian market in only one variant – 8GB + 256GB. This device is available in a total of four different color green – PANTONE Poinciana, PANTONE Lattè, PANTONE Grisaille and PANTONE Nautical Blue.

Vegan leather used on the back of the smartphone. It comes with a flat display. In the front a center punch hole camera and very slim bezels will be seen. Plastic material use for its frame. On the back a square shape camera module seen, under the shapes triple rear camera and a flashlight is see. This phone is military grade certified, which means it will be able to survive even in tough conditions.

Talking about ports and buttons, below it there is a single speaker grill, mic Type C charging port and dual micro SIM slot. On the right side there is a power button, volume rocker and a mic. On the top of the device write “Dolby Atmos®” and a noise cancelling mic is also available.

This compact 5G smartphone comes with a 6.4-inch 1.5K LTPO pOLED display. It supports 120hz refresh rate (1hz – 120hz adaptive refresh rate) HDR10+ support and 3000 nits peak brightness. Gorilla Glass 3 is provided for protection. It comes with IP68 water resistant. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner sensor for security purposes. AOD features are also provided.

For performance, it has MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chipset. LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage will be available. Its overall Antutu score is 650K+. Up to 60fps Gaming can done with this processor. It has brought out up to 90% total test result. VC cooling system is provided.

This is a compact smartphone, so it has a small battery of 4310mAh and it has 68 watt charging support. 15 watt wireless charging support will also be available. It is a compact phone, so its total weight is 170 grams and thickness is 8.1mm. Android 14 is available out of the box. Motorola has claimed that five OS upgrades and 5 years of Android security patch updates will be available.

This device is also very good in terms of connectivity as it will get 16 5G band, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6e features. Not only this, features like 4G carrier aggregation NFC are also available. External memory card not supported. It have RAM boost features, which up to 16GB extended. Dual stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos® and high res audio support are available.

This device comes with butter haptic motor. AI features have integrated. A lot of smart gesture support is available. Apart from that, features like blue light certification, ThinkShield protection and voice control are available.

There are a total of three cameras on the rear side of this device. The 50MP main camera comes with Sony LYTIA 700C sensor and OIS also have. A 13MP ultra wide + macro sensor is available. And it has a 10MP telephoto camera lens which comes with 3X optical zoom support and also has OIS. There is a 32MP selfie camera in front. Video recording done at 4K@30fps with all these cameras.

As mentioned earlier, it has launched in only one variant, priced at Rs 23,999. During the sale, you will get up to Rs 1000 off with a bank card, that is, its price will be around 22,999.

Should you buy?

The biggest question is whether this is a good deal at this price point? If we look at the overall specification and price, then this can be a best deal. Because it has all those features which are not normally available in smartphones below 25,000. Such as best durability, butter camera and better display.

But if we talk about some small shortcomings, then it has a small battery. Motorola does not give software updates on time, if they fixed then it will be good. Apart from that, it has LPDDR4x RAM type and UFS 2.2 storage which is slow. If all these shortcomings ignored, then it can become a great choice in this price point.
